The third member of the ensemble to simulate is kidi. Kidi is a supporting drum. It maintains a consistent rhythm during the basic pattern as well as responding to calls from the lead drummer during a dialogue. In my recreation I have eliminated the closed strokes kidi plays in the traditional arrangement, and play its open strokes on a small tom tom with my left hand.
