This is a drumset adaptation of the epic war dance Agbeko created by the Ewe people of Ghana. Like the traditional compositions I have previously adapted to the drumset, the translated drum language of the lead drum has remained intact by being played on three different pitched drums with my right hand. The extensive supporting rhythms have been synthesized (disco-ized really!) into a three-way ostinato maintained with my left hand and both feet. Above is a video from my last performance of Agbeko For Drumset.
